Chat on IRC

We had too many problems with using Skype for the group chat. Many people had trouble getting in there, so we are moving to IRC.

Registered a channel on Freenode. Connection information follows:

Server: irc.freenode.net
Channel: #napalmriot

If you are not familiar with IRC, it is quite easy to use. Simply get a client to connect to the server, and then join the Napalm Riot channel. Easy as that.

If you are running Windows I would suggest using mIRC. It is a quite easy one to use.


If there are enough people who cannot figure out how to get into the channel, we may offer a web-based IRC client here. I am hoping we don't need to do that however. :)

As of this posting, we are closing down the Skype channel completely.

          Oh it wasn't meant to make a point. Most people think that everything happens in very specific and determined ways, but honestly we are constantly juggling things, and some things get handled sooner, and some later.

          In this case, you and I kept missing each other, or I was in the middle of something when we did get together. The choice to open the IRC channel, was simply because one too many complaints came about trouble getting into Skype, so I made a quick call.

          And finally, the choice to not use your IRC server was simply because it was YOUR server. Running something like that on a personal internet connection is a big nono, and putting such a service under the administration of a non-team member is also a nono.

          It's an all around bad idea, but could also be a legal liability for us in some cases.

          I hope this makes sense. I never intended to offend or anything.

            Naw, don't worry about it. I was just acting sarcastically hurt, forgot to add my </sarcastic> tags. I wasn't offended. As for the communication thing, I understand we can't always be in communication, so no hard feelings there. I understand your point. I also know what its like juggling things ('ala my school work <.<) Point being, you never hurt my feelings or anything. Thanks for clearing it up, anyways.
